What is the best day to step on the scale?

Good morning everyone!

I'm Carlotta Gagna, founder of Traininpink, and today I want to talk to you about a topic that can touch many of us: the scale.

It is important to know that for us women weight fluctuations are absolutely normal, these can depend on many factors, such as hydration levels, hormonal variations and what we eat.

For this reason, the moment we weigh ourselves can make a difference: choosing the right day can help us monitor our progress in a peaceful way.

The good news is that there is an ideal moment to weigh yourself: Wednesday! Let's see together why!

Why Wednesday?

A study from Cornell University has shown that we tend to gain a few grams over the weekend, but then our weight slowly starts to drop again in the following days.

The middle of the week, that is Wednesday, therefore represents the point at which fluctuations are most stabilized, providing us with a more accurate reading of our weight.

Weighing yourself on the same day of the week every time also helps to maintain good monitoring, whichever day you choose.

Scale: better every day or once a week?

One might wonder whether it is better to weigh yourself every day or limit it to once a week.

From studies published in scientific journals, it emerges that for many people weighing themselves once a week can be useful for peacefully monitoring changes in their body, especially if they are following a nutritional plan aimed at achieving certain goals.

For those who are not following a specific eating plan, weighing themselves every 1-2 months may be sufficient to maintain a reference point without unnecessary pressure.

However, it is important to remember that each of us is different, in particular for those who have a complex relationship with weight or with food, the scale might not be the best monitoring tool.

In these cases, listening to the body's signals – such as the feeling of energy, wellbeing and overall balance - can be much more effective and healthy.

The important thing is to always remember that the scale is just a tool that helps us monitor our progress, and must never become an obsession.

Listen to the body's signals, not just the weight

As mentioned before, weight is not the only indicator of our health. Beyond the number on the scale, let's remember to also consider other signals that our body sends us:

How we feel upon waking - How much energy we have during the day - How stable our mood is

When the body is in balance, wellbeing is reflected in every aspect of our life.

If we choose to monitor our weight, let's do it with awareness, remembering that the most significant changes are not always visible on a scale.

Wellbeing does not depend on numbers, but on the small daily choices that help us feel in harmony with ourselves.

The important thing is to listen to our body and find a balance that allows us to live with energy and serenity.

With the right tools, we can reach the best version of ourselves, step by step!
